A Chamonix 550 Spyder manufactured in Sao Paulo in Brazil and rebuilt on a 1955 Chamonix Chassis in 2020 With disc brakes all round , all new parts and body ,  new engine and suspension , new interior , new wheels, tyres and suspension  

The engine is VW 1600cc air cooled using a 4 speed fully reconditioned original VW SP2 Gearbox 

First Registered as a 1955 Chamonix, exempt from Road Fund Tax or MOT , Black Plates

The 550 Spyder is one of the all time great  racing cars. Among the first dedicated race cars (since the 356 was first and foremost a street car), the 550 Spyder removed all doubt about what the small new German sports car company was all about. The 550 consistently gave cars of twice the displacement a run for their money, including a win at the 1956 Targa Florio, which proved that the new company, which was just five years old when the 550 first appeared, was serious about motorsport. If that wasn’t enough, the car was catapulted to stardom when James Dean died at the wheel of his own 550 Spyder in September 1955. Consequently, the 550 is often replicated, and as always, the quality varies widely from manufacturer to manufacturer.
